highly competitive 2008 Connecticut Art Education Association Award, Outstanding Elementary Art Educator, for significant contributions to the field of art education. The CAEA awards were presented on the
evening of Thursday, April 10, 2008 at the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford. The event included buffet dinner, open museum galleries, and the awards presentation.

Children were dropped off at Young at Art for an afternoon of art, crafts and holiday gift making, stories, music and healthful snacks.

Susan spent the day demonstrating her literature-based Master Artists curriculum to art teachers and parents on a Saturday in April, 2004 at A Village Store, 1004 Gunstock Road, Bedford, Virginia. Recertification points were available. The cost for the day was $110.00 and included all materials and written sample lesson plans.
